FAQ

Deutsche Version

Welcome! this is the JB Austria homepage. If you are new to either CISV or JB, you might ask yourself things like:

"What is Junior Branch?"

"What are they doing?"

"How can I join them?"

"Why should I join them and how crazy do I have to be to do so?"

Allora, we will try to give an answer to those questions.

Q: What is Junior Branch?

A: Like always, there is an official definition of what Junior Branch should be:

"Junior Branch is a structure which involves a process of providing an opportunity for CISV Juniors to develop leadership skills, to learn to organize, co-ordinate, take decisions and exercise representative rights. Junior Branch is part of the CISV local / national structure.

Through membership, acticity participation and administrative responsibility in all levels of the organization its members are ecvouraged to form an integral part of the Affiliated Association / International Association as well as to be self-governing."

But this is a mere definition of what it should be like. For us, JB is much more - Fun, Future, Friends, Workshops, Plans, Local Work, Socializing, New Members,...

And after all, we agreed on one thing:

"JB is what we make out of it!"

A: JB Austria organizes activities of all different kinds on the local, national and international level. These activities include workshops, Local Work, fun weekends, meetings, training, pastcamper work and fun activities. See the Agenda for current activities.

At the moment, we have a Buddy Cooperation (german) with CISV and JB Romania.

Q: How can I join JB Austria?

A: You already are in JB Austria if you are a member of CISV Austria and between 11 and 25 years old. If you are older than 16, you are allowed to take a chair within JB Austria, vote for LJR's and NJR's and apply for such positions yourself.

If you are a CISVer older than 25, and still feel like a Junior, we really appreciate if you want to work with us, join us, help us or just share your experience with us. There is no age limit for most JB Activities.

If you are not yet into CISV, well, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Gain contact with your LJR or with the NJR and ask them what you need to do....!

Q: Why should I join? How crazy do I have to be to do so?

A: The answer to this question is different for each person. Maybe it's because you have a friend who wants you to join, maybe because you want to experience phantastic hours / days with CISVers throughout the year, maybe because you want to spread the CISV spirit, maybe because it's just FUN, maybe because you feel like something must be done and you want to find out how, maybe because you want to help... there are many, many reasons... go and find out by yourself!

And, be calm, you don't have to be crazy to join. But it helps. Sometimes.
