Summercamp Klagenfurt 1999
"Life in the future - Unity of mankind and nature" 10.7.-1.8.
We arrived at Klagenfurt on Saturday the 10th of July and we were hosted by some really nice CISV families. Meanwhile, the leaders and the staff prepared the campsite and the first activities for us. So everything was ready and in order when we arrived.
From the first day the leaders made us feel comfortable, secure and they did their best to introduce us to the campsite and the famous CISV-spirit!
CISV-spirit, that means to meet people from other countries, try to understand them and their way of life and also how to communicate.
In this camp we have learned about other cultures, the present, past and future of the participating countries. We have discussed the world's future and how we would like the perfect world to be. We have also tried to solve / find solutions to problems that concern the future of everyone and everything. We have also talked about respecting and accepting each other thousands of times. We learnt to cooperate and take responsibilities for example during cleaning- and planning groups. We think that has made us more mature. Through cooperation we have made some close and strong friendships. Most of the people here got really upset about leaving each other.
Our second campsite was the local hospital. All in all we had 18 injuries!!! We smilied through tears and found that all the injuries lead to something postive: we all learned to take care of each other, making our friendships even stronger.
We have had five excursions:
- 14th July: Carinthian Summer - concert
- 19th July: lake Wörthersee
- 21st July: trip to Hochrindl
- 27th July: shopping and sightseeing in Klagenfurt
- 28th July: lake Wörthersee (swimming in a thunderstorm!!!)
We really liked it a lot to be here in this camp in Klagenfurt and we are going to miss everybody soooooooo much!!!!
